The VMSC team of professionally trained Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians respond to emergency 911 calls (over 6,400 in the past year) within Lansdale, Hatfield and North Wales Boroughs and the townships of Montgomery, Hatfield, Upper Gwynedd, and Towamencin. We arrive in state-of-the-art ambulances outfitted with the most up-to-date lifesaving equipment, ready to respond to any situation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Our ability to operate depends on being reimbursed for each emergency call. When you take into account all the training and equipment that goes into running a crucial, lifesaving service, emergency calls can sometimes run as high as $1,200. Unfortunately, Medicare and most private insurance companies cover only a modest portion of that expense; the rest is billed directly to you, the patient. Your VMSC receives NO tax dollar funding for providing these services.
By becoming a VMSC Subscription Member, you not only support our ability to provide you with emergency 911 services, you protect yourself from being billed for costs that were necessary but not covered by your insurance. Subscription members have limited responsibility for emergency 911 services over and above their insurance company reimbursements (see Frequently Asked Questions). when the services are provided by The Volunteer Medical Services Corps.
The VMSC is a registered Non-profit organization under 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to the VMSC are tax-deductible as provided to the extent of the law.
